Hello. This is Lily. I am going to introduce one building.
What I chose was this!
This building is Walt Disney Concert Hall. This is at Los Angels, California in USA. This is concert hall used for concerts. Frank Gehry constracted this in 1999-2003. In 1987, this buidling was decided to build by Lillian Disney, wife of Walt Disney. She wanted to give art and music to people of Los Angels. The Frank Gehry-designed building opend on Octobor 24, 2003. This building cost about $280 million. Disney family's contribution was estimated to $84.5 million with another $25 million from The Walt Disney Company.
I chose this building as soon as I saw the name Disney because I am a big fan of him. But as I look this building I found many interesting points of this building. First, the shape of building is so bubbly. As if I could see some music from the the tips of the walls. It looks so sprited. Secondary, it is more gorgeous at night.
Here is the picture of at night.
Don't you think it is gorgeous? The silver wall bright so much and it refrects many colors. I just really like it.
I have never been there althought I have been Los Angels for 3 weeks. But if i get any chance to go Los Angels, I definetely go there and watch some concerts.

I like Disney too. And Disney music is also one of my favorite music. If I listen music in such a gorgeous concert hall, the music must move me more widely than the music in ordinary concert hall. I'm interested in not only the outside but also the inside.

I envy Walt Disney’s wife. She was definitely loved by Walt Disney. I wish someone would make that kind of building for me. Haha. I want to visit there, too. Maybe I can stay in front of that building from morning to midnight without getting tired of seeing it. I wish I would see it at night with my lover because the building at night is sooo romantic.

I’m Narumi.
ReplyDeleteI love Walt Disney’s work too.
His animations and theme parks are loved by all over the world. Gehry expresses fully Walt’s view and characteristic with this concert hall.
And Yuna’s comment is interesting! I also envy Walt’s wife, haha.

I chose the same one. As you said, it cost a lot and gorgeous. And, I also never been there althought I have been Los Angeles before.

As you mentioned, that is really gorgeous especially at night. For me, the moment I found and knew this architecture, I got a dream that someday I absolutely go and watch concerts with my girlfriend there! Unconditionally, I love this architect. for one thing, I like both music and Disney's world. I really hope you would go there and enjoy some concerts one day.

Wow, it looks like something from a Disney movie. Thank you for showing us the night view - spectacular! And what's more, I found out on the Frank Gehry DVD we watched in class that according to the music director of the resident orchestra, the acoustics are superb. So, it must be a fantastic experience to go to a concert there.
